Corrupted

So like I said before, I could see this as a sequel to this picture. brittinroberts.deviantart.com/…

Here's what I was thinking.

Sonic turns into Dark Sonic when he's overwhelmed with rage, like when Shahra died or when Chris and Cosmo were threatened to be killed.

Rock shuts down after this, making Sonic think he's gone for good. His depression and anger from losing a close friend causes him to turn into Dark Sonic. However, no one's there to talk him out of it and his emotions spiral out of control where he 'loses' himself in this form to where he's not even aware of what's going on around him.

Rock's system reboots and turns out he wasn't dead after all. His programming was actually being over-rode by a virus turning him evil against his will (like in the Mega Man comics: Spoilers).

Sonic is too far gone at this point to even recognize it's him, but with a darker appearance.

I'm not sure how they would end up teaming up, though. Maybe Rock talked him into going into a destructive faze and joining him in destroying the world, messing with his emotions and stuff. But at some point, their friends show up hearing about the destruction and curing Rock of his virus.

Then there's a heart-breaking scene where Rock tries to talk some sense into Dark Sonic until he finally breaks through to him.

Kind of lame, I know. Anyways . . .
